Ernest (Ernie) James Bradley passed away as the result of a vehicle accident on 18 June 2023, survived by his wife, Erin; his three children James, Jeanette and Shane and their partners; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Ernie was born and brought up in Chermside, Brisbane, and before joining the Regular Army in 1965 was an apprentice wood machinist.  A dedicated, reliable and well regarded soldier, he served with 105th Battery on both its tours of Vietnam, in the first tour on the gun line, and on the second as the Battery Captain’s driver.

After Vietnam, Ernie stayed on in the Army, serving in Brisbane and Holsworthy before discharging in 1985 in the rank of Staff Sergeant.  Following a range of post-Army jobs, in retirement at Camira he enjoyed tinkering, motor biking, and car restoration, the latter including, amongst other projects, refurbishing an HT Monaro, a car desired by many in the Vietnam era.
